Heading west through Rio Negro and into Neuquén Provinces to the city of Neuquén Wednesday September 15, 2013

Let´s review: Buenos Aires province is in bright green.  The Capital is the southwestern bank of the Rio de La Plata.  We started there and drove down the coast to Mar del Plata and then further down the coast to just about where the coast goes west to Bahia Blanca.  On Wednesday we headed west across La Pampa province ( yes we saw a LOT of pampas grass growing, some wild and some in front of homes and businesses).  We crossed the tip of Rio Negro and then went into Neuquén province.  The capital of the province is also Neuquén and is in the upper northeast corner of the province.

The Virgin of Lujan is the Patron Saint of the Argentine roads.  The colors of her gown , blue white and gold are also on the Argentine flag.

We saw a lot of orchards and vineyards as we entered Neuquén.  They train the trees onto wooden fences and keep them trimmed back and short.  It must make picking MUCH easier.
Rio Negro or Black River is the border to the province.
Camping...another borrowed word.  Lots of English words are used in  Argentina
The terrain began to change when we left the Pampas and entered Rio Negro and then Neuquén.  More hills.  On the east of Neuquén are the Andes Mountains.

The main street of Neuquén as school let out.

In Neuquén they have a park in the middle of the main street with lots of places to sit and enjoy the shade during your lunch hour or for a Mate break.

CRE in Neuquén

We had a training of the staff of the CRE and then later the stake and ward leaders in Neuquén.  I was really starting to feel the fatigue of all the riding in the car and the long days and I forgot to take a photo of the training, but the next day we went in and trained the sisters in the office.  We really got into the details of how to use the LDSjobs.org website.

Sister Silvia Rebeca Esterkin is a full-time missionary who is from Neuquén and works in the CRE.  Here she is concentrating on the LDSjobs website.

We had a great time on Thursday working with the staff of the CRE and the leaders.  One more day and a long drive tomorrow! We will head back across La Pampa province and stop to talk to the Stake President in Santa Rosa. Then Friday we head back to Buenos Aires.
