Decided to try to post a recipe of the day from my recipe box. Some of these date back 40 years.
Let's start with a disaster! LOL!
DISASTER CAKE
Got this one from a friend in State College PA. She used it when she tried to take a cake out of the pan and it fell apart.
1 angelfood, yellow or sponge cake, broken into small pieces
2 packages of Strawberry jello mixed and set for quick gel
Fresh or frozen strawberries
Place fruit in bottom of mold or rectangular pan. crumble in cake pieces. Pour in semi-gelled jello. Place in freezer until set. Unmold. Serve with whip cream topping. You could change the fruit, but if you do be sure to use a jello flavor that is compatible. The strawberry one tastes like the best strawberry shortcake EVER!
