FHE with President and Sister Viñas June 16, 2014

We had a wonderful opportunity last week to have President Viñas, (one of the counselors to Area President Gonzales)and his wife, Sister Cristina Viñas come and talk to us about themselves.  He is originally from Spain and his wife is from Uruguay.

After our Family Home Evening we got together for a group shot.

Elder Francisco J. Viñas was sustained a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 4, 1998. He served earlier as a member of the Second Quorum of the Seventy since April 1996 and as an Area Seventy in the Europe West Area. He has also served as president and counselor in the South America North, Chile, and Caribbean Areas, and counselor in the Europe West Area. He is currently serving as a counselor in the South America South Area.
He worked in the Church Educational System from 1977-1996, most recently as country director in Spain. He earlier served as the system’s coordinator in Uruguay. He was a basketball coach at a physical education institute. Early in his career, he worked for the Bayer Company.
He has served the Church in numerous callings, including bishop’s counselor, bishop, high councilor, stake president’s counselor, stake president, regional representative, and president of the Argentina Salta Mission (1988-1990).
Francisco José Viñas Serrano was born on December 28, 1946. He married Cristina Helena Gaminara in 1966. They are the parents of three children and have nine grandchildren.
