Argentine Food at Las Cabras

We, Karen and me and the senior missionary couples at the area office went back to Las Cabras Restaurant on Fitzroy last night as a farewell dinner for the Kellers and  Welcome dinner for the Boyles, our new Executive Secretary Missionaries to the Area Presidency.

This time I remembered to take pictures of the food BEFORE it was eaten.  Just a reminder from the previous Food Critic about Las Cabras.  The food is fabulous and runs from 47-70 pesos plus 15-17 pesos for soda or bottled water.

The lighting is not bright in the restaurant, which tends to make my photos a bit blurry.  Yep, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Karen Casós, Diane Brunt and Arvid Carlson(Dr. at the US Embassy)

Ellen and Paul Garvin w/ Evelyn and Stuart Candland in the back ground

Why does everyone always turn the other way or pull back when I go to take a photo?

On the left is Kelly Carlson (Arvid's wife) Diane Brunt, Roger Brunt and Elder Boyle On the right is the top of  John Switzer's head, Janice Switzer,  Robin Ashton, Bill Ashton and Sister Boyle

In the back you can see the kitchen with the Parilla(grill) and the Horno (oven)

Here's a closeup of the the huge Horno (oven)

 And now for the FOOD~!

There were these wooden breadboards with butter and round loaves of bread...yummy!
Brochette (Kabob) de Lomo (Beef) comes with Caesar salad 53 pesos, (my dinner done  a punto (me)dium)

Bife de chorizo (like a Tbone) came w/Caesar salad 64 pesos (Karen's dinner)
I don't have prices on the others, sorry.
Bill Wingo's Torta de Lomo - Kind of like a shepherd's pie with mashed potatoes and cut up beef.

El Gran Bife.  Garvins shared this.  Steak, fries served with a fried egg, mashed squash, rice, onion, tomato & cheese

Quesedillas came w/fries and a salad Joyce Wingo had this
Everybody loved their dinners.  Food was excellent, but don't be in a hurry!
